I was born in limerick city august 24th 1981

I am currently living in limerick city and live alone for now

I am a MAC makeup artist @ brown thomas cork

What do you have in your pockets?
Phone and money two things I never leave the house without

What was the last song you sang when no one else was around?
Last song I sang was dream girls from the movie the dream girls with Beyonce haha

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
As a child I always wanted too be a dancer that would have been my love back then

When and with whom was your first kiss?
My 1st kiss would have Ben with my best friend in growing up Amanda haha

Who has had the most influence on you?
My mother she’s the most amazing person I know

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
I’ve so much more I yet want too achieve, but I worked hard to get where I am work wise so for now I have too say that.

What things are most important to you now? Why?
Putting myself on the right track for a good future and also tying too be the best dad I can to my son Alex.

Who do you trust and depend on?
I would only put all my trust in my family, and I’m quite the independent lad and like too know that others can depend on me.

Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I’m defo optimistic.

Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Yes I do believe in soul mates and true love, although I’m still yet too find him lol.

What do you believe makes a successful life?
I believe if you can be happy in yourself then you’re already set up for a successful life as u tend to do better in other area’s when you’r e happy in your personal life.

What is your favourite kind of music?
I’m a big dance music person, no matter how early or late it is in the day ill put it on it always puts me in a good mood.

What scares you?
If I know I have an exam coming up at work or what ever I get really scared but doesn’t stop me form doing well lol.

Oh I’m going to have too say hugs and kisses, greedy I know!

Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My son Alex is the most important person in my life for obvious reasons.

How close are you to your family?
I’m VERY close too my family they mean everything too me and we always stick by each other no matter what.

Do you care what others think of you?
I used too care what others think f me but as I get older I now tend too care about the more important things in life.

What is/are your favourite hobbies and pastimes?
My favourite hobby would be exercise I find it always gives me a lift and a good buzz!

What is your most treasured possession?
My most treasured possession has too be my phone haha. I literally go no where with out it and keep it beside me when sleeping lol.

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
My typical Saturday nite usually consist of my mates coming too my house for drinks me doing more makeup’s then I want and then heading too town for a good nite.

What makes you laugh? What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
People thinking they have the right too comment either on my sexuality or my tattoo’s I fined that hilarious.

Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
Oh I always have plan, I could probably tell you now what I’m wearing next weekend and where I’ll be at what time I’ll be there. My friends think its hilarious everything is timed lol

Do you like to dance?
I love love love too dance I’m so there lol

Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
I’m quite the ambitious type and also very competitive my sights set out on what I want too do with MAC I think they are an amazing brand too work with, with so much too offer

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
In 5 years time I see myself being a resident trainer for Ireland with MAC owning a beautiful home and having the most amazing boyfriend ever!! Positive thinking eh?? lol

What three words best describe your personality?
My personality: upfront, sarcastic but nicely funny

What three words would others probably use to describe you?
I think others could possibly use the same; I could be very wrong haha

If you were to choose a new name for yourself, what would it be?
I would never change my name, as I’m called after my dad

What do you do for fun?
For fun I like too be around my friends and do what ever. When I get bored I like too go clothes shopping one of my favourite things too do.

What is something that you are really proud of and why?
I’m proud too be independent and from such a young age I was too, I’m also proud too achieve the Mr. GayCork.com title and too be representing us at Mr. Gay Ireland.

We could not but notice your many tattoos, how many do you have and what do they mean to you?
My tattoos are my love, I have a full sleeve on my left arm, some feature pieces on my right arm and hand, chest piece, stomach, back and both sides of my neck. I’m planning a half sleeve on my leg next. Only some of them have a meaning too me others are the traditional old school style I like.

Why did you enter Mr Gay Cork 2010?
I entered Mr Gay Cork because I want to work hard to try and bring the Mr Gay Ireland title to the south this year.

How does it feel to be Mr GayCork.com 2010?
It feels bill too be able too represent such a great city in the final 2010.

Any ideas / plans to make you stand out in the upcoming Mr Gay Ireland final in Dublin?
Just be as confident as I can work hard at the gym too make sure I don’t blend in with the rest

I would just like too assure everyone that you have made the right choice in me haha

Where and when were you born?
I was born in St. Finbarrs Hospital in Cork, on May 9th 1988

Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
Now that’s a hard one! I officially live at home I suppose, because most of my stuff is there, but I do spend most of the week in my boyfriend Jamies apartment in the City.
Both Jamie and my parents have been very supportive over the past year or so, and if not for them, I wouldn’t be writing this!

What is your occupation?
I work with Brown Thomas Cork, in their Formalwear Store on Caroline Street. I also work in Chambers Bar of Washington street a couple of nights a week. I am due to graduate with a Bsc Finance degree from UCC in September, so hopefully I’ll get a job in something related to my studies!

What do you have in your pockets?
€4.78 in change, a bottle top, keys and a box of matches

What was the last song you sang when no one else was around?
Madonna, New York

As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A solicitor or Garda

When and with whom was your first kiss?
God, most likely my oldest friend Claire. We converted my shed into a shop when we were 3 or 4, and were best friends since!

Who has had the most influence on you?
I’m the youngest of 5 siblings. They’ve all accomplished allot, professionally and in their personal lives, families etc. So I suppose they all equally influence me. My parents would be another obvious influence, They were never afraid to give me a kick in the arse when I needed it. And of course, Jamie who, keeps me between the lines, most of the time!

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
After four years of pretty tough studies, I will be graduating with a Honours Degree in Finance from University College Cork. I think this, coupled with the fantastic friends I have made along the way, would be my greatest achievement to date.  (Obviously Mr. Gay Cork 2010 is up there too!)

What things are most important to you now? Why?
Trying to get my career sorted at the moment!! I’d love to raise as much money as possible for St James’ Hospital, and do my best for the Mr Gay Ireland competition in Dublin.

Who do you trust and depend on?
I am a very trusting person, sometimes to my detriment, I take people at face value. The people I trust are the people I share with, ye know who ye are!

Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
Happy, 12 hours sleep Bryan = optimistic!  Hung-over, 3 hours sleep, tired Bryan = Pessimistic!

Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Yep!

What do you believe makes a successful life?
A healthy balance of all of the good things and most of the bad things!

What is your favorite kind of music?
Anything really, like chilled out dance, pop chat etc.

What scares you?
Ghosts, failure, raw chicken, dirty carpets.

Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My Muppet of a boyfriend Jamie is undoubtedly the most important boy in my world.

How close are you to your family?
I’m very close to my family. My coming out last year has only made us stronger.

In certain situations like work etc I would, but in general, no.

What is/are your favourite hobbies and pastimes?
Love to eat good food, go out with friends, love swimming and the gym too!

How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Sweating it out on other side of the Bar in chambers!

What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
Homophobic comments or attitudes, people who point at you and racism.

Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?
I like to have a general plan, but love to be spontaneous

Yep

Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Wake at about 9, shower, shave, in work for 10am. Work in brown Thomas till 6 or so, Then either hit the gym straight after work, or if I’m working in Chambers I’ll go home and sleep for an hour or so and get food etc. If I miss my precious hour or two sleep between jobs, I could chop your hand off when serving you later!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Right now? I wish I had sallow skin, as I am still pealing, a week after my holidays!

Are you generally organized or messy?
An organised mess I think best describes it!

Name three things you consider yourself to be very good at, and three things you consider yourself to be very bad at.
Good: College stuff,  Talking, Oooh… and cooking!
Bad:  Eating Healthy, Biting my nails, Going to the gym!

What goal do you most want to accomplish in your lifetime?
I think its probably the same for anyone who studies Finance or business, I’d love to have my own successful business(s).

What three words best describe your personality?
Bubbly, thoughtful, and easy-going!

What do you do most often when you are bored?
Order Dominos, (more than one person can eat) and watch a classic DVD like “The Van” or “Nothing Hill”.

Why did you enter Mr Gay Cork 2010?
After a late Saturday night shift, Dermot Hickey (a work colleague and fellow  contestant in MGC) asked me to go forward. I told him that I would go forward for MGC if he would, and two weeks later he decided he would. I must admit at first I was a bit apprehensive, but the causes involved were so worthwhile, I felt I had to do it! And I’m glad we did. It was so much fun!

How does it feel to be Mr Gay Cork 2010?
Its great, I’m delighted to have been picked to represent cork in the Mr Gay Ireland Competition in Dublin. Its still sinking in I guess, but it wouldn’t have been possible without everyone who voted.

Any ideas / plans to make you stand out in the upcoming Mr Gay Ireland final in Dublin?
Well, I’m stepping it up in the Gym from today on. Trying to put on a few pounds too! A good friend of mine Christofer is an amazing personal shopper and he will be dressing me to impress!

I live in the north side of cork with my two old fashioned folks and like me, my sister is just a nut job, but I love her.

Working in the Dog Track as the Jack of all Trades – so I’m Jack.

Nothing, just woke up, still in my boxers.

I wouldn’t be able to live with out music, and the pond at Fitzgerald’s park, and my daily dealings with friends.

My day is the same most days, lounge around the house or his house, then head off to work and come about 5.30, or 6 walk into town, pop into the Vault and up to Loafers then, and see people I know – it might not be perfect but its mine.

Might get rid of all my Scars.

Very organized in life but my room is a mess.

Mr Gay Cork

Hey everyone!! i know its short notice but on wed 14th oct from 8.30pm we (mr gay cork and the crop shop) are joining forces with the the other place cafe to officially launch its new late night opening hours (now open until 11pm tues-fri and 7pm sat) there will be plenty of nibbles on offer ( not just jason!!!) and maybe even a glass of wine too!!

Jason (mr Gay cork) will be there to chat to you all and to answer any questions you may have for him.

so please come along and support and maybe donate a couple of quid to your entrant for mr gay ireland!!

if you cant support on the night there are fund raising tins in the other place and the crop shop!!!

all funds raised go to the new fill project. hope to see lots of you there from 8.30pm
